Fast-Start Failover using Data Guard Broker

Checking Current DR configuration


DGMGRL> show configuration;

Configuration - DB11R2_DG_CONFIG

 Protection Mode: MaxPerformance
 Databases:
 DB11R2   - Primary database
 DB11R2DR - Physical standby database
 DB11R2LS - Logical standby database

Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED

Configuration Status:
SUCCESS

By default the FSF is disabled.

Configuring Fast-Start Failover


DGMGRL> edit database 'DB11R2' set property faststartfailovertarget='DB11R2DR';
Property "faststartfailovertarget" updated

DGMGRL> edit database 'DB11R2DR' set property faststartfailovertarget='DB11R2';
Property "faststartfailovertarget" updated

DGMGRL> edit configuration set property faststartfailoverthreshold=60;
Property "faststartfailoverthreshold" updated
